So this morning I woke up and looked in the mirror, and looked like Billy. And I was kinda pissed, because like, that creepy body-switching curse just happened last month to me and Euphie, so not fair that I pull it two months in a row.

But, nope. No blue glowy magic stuff. I look weird but I feel fine. Still speedy.

And Billy still looks like Billy. So now we both look like Billy.

I don't get it.

She's got a cell phone in hand and occasionally snaps dramatic, Myspace-style photos of herself in the mirror. White-haired and skinny, she's pretty, if a little clumsy in her posing. Probably because she's a sixteen year old boy.]

So at first I thought this was like, the worst curse ever.

[He pauses and turns to flash the camera a winning grin, a little cocky.]

But then I realized, it could be kind of awesome.

[Smirking, Tommy twists his long hair up with his free hand and practices a flirty pout, before leaning over (flashing a little cleavage) to turn off the camera.]

Waking up the day after a curse is like waking up with a hangover, except without the fun part.

And by some I mean a lot.

You can pace the room if you’d like, but it’s barely a cage; long enough to lay out on the floor in either direction, but not much bigger. At first it seems empty; but after a time the shallow sound of breathing is perceptible, coming from one of the walls. There’s a bed there, little more than a cot, with a supine body on it. Was that there before? Didn’t you walk along the edges of this cell, running a hand over the smooth walls?

It’s still too dark to make out his features, but if you reach out to touch him you’ll find he’s dressed in plain scrubs, bandages here and there on his limbs, and an IV hanging from the wall beside him. He’s totally unconscious.

If you’re anything more or other than human, whatever abilities you have don’t work here. There’s no way out. The walls, the plated door, are too heavy for any shouts to pass to the world outside. There’s no one with a key. No one who cares you’re here, even if they know-- and somehow that thought, when it occurs to you, is worse than anything else. You’ve been left here, and no one’s coming to get you.

You’re stuck.

Now what?
