So this morning I woke up and looked in the mirror, and looked like Billy. And I was kinda pissed, because like, that creepy body-switching curse just happened last month to me and Euphie, so not fair that I pull it two months in a row.

But, nope. No blue glowy magic stuff. I look weird but I feel fine. Still speedy.

And Billy still looks like Billy. So now we both look like Billy.

I don't get it.

Did you realize you were a mutant then?

It seemed like the obvious explanation.

[After a pause.]

You wanna go do something, Euph?

[Smiling.] I'd like that, Tommy. Should I met you somewhere or did you want to pick me up?

We'll walk together? I can meet you in your lobby, like, any minute.

I'll be right down. [Light laugh.] You'll probably beat me.

[The feed clicks off and on again, and when it does, it's obvious that she's right, because the lobby shows in the background. And Tommy is smirking.]

[Fondly.] Show off.

[She turns the feed off because this is where she becomes an action princess! A moment later she comes down the hallway.] Hi. [Smiling. She might just be glad to see him even if he is kind of wearing a Billy look.]

[Billy coloration, maybe, but the grin is all Tommy. He's leaning lazily against a wall.] Hey.

[She comes to a stop in front of him, still smiling.] What did you have in mind?

Dunno.

[It's kind of a lie, since there are things he has in mind, but he doesn't really have any destination in mind.]

What do you feel like?

Somewhere without many people maybe? [Since he seemed a little distressed about his new coloring.] I guess it's unseasonable for a walk in the park.

It's a little cold, not that bad. Up to you. We could just go for coffee, too.

Maybe both? A little walk and then something warm?

Sounds like a plan.

[He shoulders the door open for her, leaning on it and waiting for her to pass.]

[She steps through and then says over her shoulder.] Cursed weekends like these can be dangerous. [She holds back a smile as if this could be a legitimate concern with Tommy here.]

At least when everyone's the same you know what to expect. Sorta. [He lets the door fall and moves alongside her, letting her set the pace of course as they walk.]

[This right here is where Euphie reaches for his hand as they walk. Princesses, you know?] True. Or when we have a break from it all. It's a wonder any of the businesses stay open with all that happens.

[He's not normally the hand-holding type but he is the accommodating type. At least for cute girls, so she's welcome to his arm.] I guess they kind of have to. Like, it's not like people don't need to eat and stuff, even if they're turning into wombats every other day.

[She giggles at his choice of curse.] You'd make a cute wombat.

I'm not sure I've ever actually seen a wombat.

I have in the zoo. They don't look at all like bats of course.

I like being people-shaped, though. [He smiles slightly, leaning in a bit closer than is strictly necessary. Hey, it's cold, he's just preserving warmth, right?]

I guess you aren't so bad when you are people-shaped. [She looks amused and not at all bothered by this leaning.]

Yeah? Thanks.

[At least they're not in each other's bodies this time, right? But that's a little too weird to think about right now, since he's thinking about what she said under the mistletoe.]
