[Tommy is out and about running errands today, because any day when people are randomly kissing people seems like a good day to be outside and conveniently near cute girls.

Besides, there are things that need doing! Groceries to buy! And Tommy's still looking for a job. Maybe he'll find one... and then, of course, he'll need to celebrate.]

[Steve is walking back from the library, looking a little confused, his shield under one arm]

[You would think that maybe Tommy might have noticed Captain America showing up in the City, but well, sometimes he isn't the most attentive guy around here. So he's several layers of oblivious right now, bent over square in the middle of Steve's path to tie his shoe.

He's really good at tying his shoe, though. Doesn't a beautiful knot like that deserve some celebration? Tommy straightens up, hoping someone gorgeous is in the vicinity.]

[The only person in the vicinity is Cap. Who is walking by, still a little dazed]

[It's moments like these that illustrate the vital flaws in our greatest plans. Moments where you find yourself grabbing the nearest dude and planting one square on his mouth.

[At least it's not a terribly passionate kiss. It goes on ar longer than probably either of them would like, but in the grand scheme of things that's not long at all.

Sputtering, Tommy pulls away.]

[Augh. Tommy is scowling, kind of doubled over still. It's all for effect.]

[Tommy retorts, and finally shoots a look at his accidental makeout partner. It makes his heart fall even further. Of all the people to accidentally molest, it has to be the single most wholesome man in existence, right?]

Oh my god, are you serious? [Hand on his face, he mutters something that sounds roughly like Billy is going to electrocute me.]

[The silence is indicative.]

[For a long, long moment, Tommy stares, wanting to believe he misunderstood that inference but pretty damn sure he's catching the right drift.]

I cannot believe you just asked me that question.

So, uh. When did you get here?

[There's a certain familiarity in his tone, even though he's got a sneaky feeling Cap has no idea who he is. Figures.]

I got here yesterday.

I figured I'd've noticed you around if it had been much longer, that's all.

[He frowns slightly, stuffing his hands in his pockets, then taking them out.]

I'm Tommy. You settling in all right?

I managed to find a place to live today.

[At least he's not rooming with anyone awful.]

That's kind of rough-- I dunno if anyone gave you a guide yet? But being alone makes you crazy. You should get a cat or something, at least.

I got a guide yesterday at that Welcome Center place where I spent the night. It was pretty nice of them.
